L'Oréal Mythic Oil review

Hi girls,

After a long, long time of writing on the blog, i'm (we're!) back!
Look out for new reviews, FOTD's, tutorials, and outfit posts.
Today's review will be about a hair serum I have been loving lately: L'Oréal's Mythic Oil nourishing oil - For all hair types.

I bought this product online about 2 months ago, and as you can see I have used about 1/4 of it.

What the product says http://www.lorealprofessionnel.co.uk/products/haircare/mythic-oil

Hair type:
All hair types.
Results/Effect:
Enriched with a special blend of avocado and grape seed oil, this lightweight oil cares and pampers all hair types. Nourishing even the finest hair, the formula leaves hair looking shiny, feeling nourished and supple.
Application/How to use:
Before blow-drying, your hairdresser will diligently apply Mythic Oil to various sections of the hair, allowing the formula to pamper your tired locks. Followed by a look transforming blow-dry, hair is left looking shiny and feeling supple.

My opinion:

First of all I want to mention that this product is not a heat protector.
This product will not protect  your hair from any hot hair tools.
What it does to my hair though is that it makes my hair very soft and shiny. I use 2 or 3 pumps after I wash my hair. Right after I blowdry my hair with a large round brush. The serum really decreases the drying time, and is also very lightweight. It does'nt leave my hair feeling heavy or greasy at all.
On regular days when I don't straighten or curl my hair, I just put a little of the serum in, blowdry my hair, and I'm good to go!
Overall I'm very happy with the product, and I will definitely repurchase.

Price: €23,95 ,
125 ML

Review + Swatches: Diorskin Nude Foundation in 031 Sand (SPF10)

Hi girls,

Today I will review a high-end beauty product for you guys: The Diorskin Nude natural glow hydrating makup (SPF10).

What the packaging says: Diorskin Nude, the new face makeup that dazzles with freshness. The formulas contain a unique blend of 100% mineral pigments and energizing mineralized water to instantly recreate the perfection of flawless bare skin. Day after day, your skin looks more beautiful and radiant. Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup: this exquisitely silky fluid foundation envelops your skin in a halo of freshness and wellbeing.

This liquid foundation provides light medium/ to full coverage.
It is easy to blend and it is not drying. It really gives you a beautiful glowy/dewy finish that I love. I do use a setting powder over it though, to make sure it'll stay in place the whole day. Because it is a hydrating makeup, to me this is the perfect winter-time foundation, during winter my skin is always a little dry so this is a great solution. During summer though I wouldn't use this, the heat plus the fact that I have oily skin would make this foundation not work for me..

Ok, so far so good.. The packaging is gorgeous (as always). It comes in a glass bottle with a pump.. BIG plus..Very hygenic.
You have to shake very well because otherwise it can cause blockage in the pump.

As you can see I use this in the shade 31-Sand.
The colour range is as follows:
Neutral shades are 010, 020, 030, 040
Yellow undertones are 021, 031, 041
Pink undertones are 022, 032, 042
Peach undertones are 023, 033, 043

In MAC I am an NC30/35 so the MUA matched me with 031 Sand. Which seemed like the perfect match!
The only thing, and at the same time, that 'thing' is the biggest DOWNSIDE on this great foundation.. Is that is oxidizes like hell! The first few days it didn't catch my eye, but later on it striked me that after half an hour, the colour would just have turned two shades darker!!..
So I would really reccomend to always go one shade lighter than your regular shade.. So next time I would definitely go for 021 Linen.

I took some pictures to show you guys..

(outside with flash, just applied)                (outside without flash, just applied)

you can already see it drying up, and changing colour on the outside.

(outside with flash, after a couple of minutes)

(outside without flash, after a couple of minutes)

Do you see the difference? I really love the foundation, the way it applies, the way it looks etc.
This really is the only thing I don't like about it.
I paid €44,80 for it, it's a pretty expensive foundation so I decided to use it. I just mix it with other foundations to get the right colour..

What are you're experiences on this product, I would really like to know if somebody else has the same problem with this foundation..

Let me know!

E.L.F. Kabuki Face Brush Review

Today I will do a short review on the studio line Kabuki Face Brush from E.L.F.
I ordered it on http://www.eyeslipsface.nl/ and it costed me €3,50.

I bought this kabuki brush to apply my Mac MSF or any other loose/compact powders.
I really like it. The first thing that I want to say is that this brush is so incredibly soft!
It distributes a perfect layer of product on the face.
I have been using it for about a month right now and it never shed on me, neither did it get out of shape.
Also it has a nice size.
For only €3,50 this is a very affordable, good quality brush. I will definitely repurchase.

MAC Must-Haves: MSF Natural (Mineralize Skin Finish)

Product: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish (MSF) Natural
Price: €25,00
Availability: part of the permanent line

MAC describes it as:
A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day.

Why is it a must-have? (to me)
This product is a must have to me because it you can use in 2 different ways. You can use it over your foundation, like a setting-powder which gives you also a bit coverage or you can use this as your powder foundation, it has a light to medium coverage. It gives a beautiful natural finish. There are 8 colours available in the permanent line, the colour range goes from light to dark so there's something for everyone. I'm in the colour Medium Dark. I'm in love with this product, ever since I bought it I''ve been using it pretty much every day! I first apply some concealer to my problem areas, like my under eye circles and then I apply my MSF Natural all over my face using a big fluffy brush.

Do you own a MSF Natural? What shade are you?

E.L.F. Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal Review

Goodmorning girls,

Ok for those of you who do not want to read any further, and just like to know my overall opinion on this product: I LOVE IT !! And I would definitely buy again! (if not; in my next E.L.F. order, whether this one is finished or not, I am going to buy 3 of these just in case it discontinues)!

For those of you who want more information + pics: keep on reading!;)

So first of all: I bought this at http://www.eyeslipsface.nl/ for (ONLY) €1,-.
The delivery is very quick, we recieved our orders within 3 or 4 days can't remember exactly.

Do you see that beautiful glowy finish? I love it, After I apply my foundation I just put a little bit on my cheekbones, nose, and cupid's bow. Make sure you don't use too much, a little goes a long way, you don't want to look greasy and oily!!
I just squeeze a tiny dot on my fingertip, and that is enough to highlight my face.

They say Lilac Petal is the official dupe for Benefit High Beam highlighter. I have never used it myself but I can tell you that the E.L.F. version is much cheaper!;)

This is what the packaging looks like.
When I first got it, the tube was much smaller that I expected it would be,
but as I mentioned a little goes a long way.

If you are planning to order more cosmetics from E.L.F. I really recommend you to give this product a try. =)

Have a beautiful day,
xxx Liza

E.L.F Complexion Perfection

I recently recieved my E.L.F cosmetics I ordered from http://www.eyeslipsface.nl/ .
One of the products I am really suprised about and definitely want to share with you is the Complexion Perfection powder.
I wasn't expecting much about this powder (it was only €3,50 so..) but I actually really like it!

I like to apply it after I put on my foundation, as it works great as a setting powder. You're face will be oil-free for the rest of the day.
You can also use the specific colors on different problem areas; for example green to cover red spots etc.
It definitely does even out your skintone and gives you a more flawless looking face.

The only downside is that it can be a little drying, so make sure you first apply your daily moisturizer before putting on this product. I also think this would work even better for fair skinned girls. On me (NC35) sometimes it can look a little ashy when I apply too much.
PS. I l0ooveee the packaging!!

What are you're experiences with this product?

Review: GOSH Effect Powder, 08 Aquatic

Colour/Formula:
Aquatic is a gorgeous blue-green-teal pigment, yes I want to say it looks like the sea, that’s probably why they called this one Aquatic. Even when used dry is has amazing colour pay-off, but because it’s a pigment and it can get messy and cause a lot of fall-out when used dry I recommend using this product wet. I'm not sure if this colour is still available because it's not one the GOSH site anymore.

Swatch GOSH Effect Powder, dry/wet

Packaging:
The products comes in a glass jar with a screw top black cap. It looks very sophisticated. When you screw the cap off, you’ll find a lid you have to open to get to a sifter so you can totally take this one with you when you go travelling because it won’t spill. If you don’t like sifters you can quite easily take this one out.

Price/Quality:
This jar costs €7,49 but this brand is often on sale. The jars aren’t that big so it doesn’t feel like a waste of money when you know you won’t use it all. Also because it’s a pigment you can use it for other things than just your eyes.

Overall:
+ Al lot of colours available (neutrals and bright colours)
+ Good colour pay-off
+ Often on Sale
+ You don’t need a lot
+ Multi-purpose product
+ Good pigmentation
- Can be messy when used dry
- All lot of fall-out when used dry

Doesn’t this colour just scream summer? Are you looking forward to summer and wearing bright colours again, or do you just wear bright colours anyway?

xoxo Kelly

Review: GOSH Effect Powder, Butterfly

Colour/Formula:
Butterfly is a beautiful lilac-purple pigment. When used dry it has decent colour pay-off and looks a bit glittery but when used wet the colour pay-off is even better and it reveals a gorgeous metallic sheen. When you use this product dry it can get a bit messy so I recommend using this product wet.

Swatch GOSH Effect Powder Butterfly, dry/wet

Packaging:
The products comes in a glass jar with a screw top black cap. It looks very sophisticated. When you screw the cap off, you’ll find a sifter so the product won’t spill. If you don’t like sifters you can quite easily take this one out.

Price/Quality:
This jar costs €7,49 but this brand is often on sale. The jars aren’t that big so it doesn’t feel like a waste of money when you know you won’t use it all. These GOSH Effect Powders are a more affordable and easier to get by than than MAC pigments. Also because it’s a pigment you can use it for other things than just your eyes. I once mixed this in with my hairspray to create my very own glitter hairspray.

Overall:
+ Al lot of colours available (neutrals and bright colours)
+ Good colour pay-off
+ Often on Sale
+ You don’t need a lot
+ Multi-purpose product
+ Good pigmentation
- Can be messy when used dry
- All lot of fall-out when used dry

Do you like using pigments? Which brands do you like? Or are they too messy and too much work in your opinion?

Catrice Absolute Eye colour 180 Ocean's 14 review

Hi everyone,

Today I will do a review on the navy blue eyeshadow by Catrice in 180 Ocean's 14 .
The color is quite dark as you can see on the pictures below.
I have bought 3 colours of the collection and all I can say is that I am very pleased with them.
The quality and pigementation are very high, and definitely long-lasting. I was wearing the navy smokey look yesterdaynight when I went for a drink with a friend. When I came home and looked in the mirror, everything was still in place.
I can't wait to purchase more colors from this line. (another + : they have a huge color range!)
Price/quality: Normally the eyeshadows cost €2,75 which I think is very inexpensive for such good quality! You can now buy 2 eyeshadows for only €4,00 at the Kruidvat.

You can find the navy blue smokey look Kelly did on me here: http://things4her.blogspot.com/2011/02/eotd-navy-blue-smoky-eye.html

Im am still looking for the perfect navy blue though..
If you have any recommandations please let me know!:)

MAC Peacocky Review: Mega Metal Eyeshadows (Tweet-me, Paparazz-she, Noir Plum)

So on the first day the MAC Peacocky collection came out I bought 3 Mega Metal Eyeshadows. I first wanted some time to play around with these new products before I review them so I know what I'm talking about because I want to give you my honest thoughts on the product. I’ve had the time to play around with these gorgeous eyeshadows so now it’s time to share my opinion with you all.

NOTD: OPI Diva of Geneva (Swiss Collection)

Colour/Formula:
OPI describes it as: A Vibrant pink-red that’s anything but neutral.
I describe it as: A purple with pink undertones with a golden sheen to it.

Well you can call it whatever you want, it’s a gorgeous colour. Too bad you can’t really see the gold sheen in the picture. I always have this feeling that pictures don’t do nail polish justice. They look so much better in real life. Just a fun fact about how amazing this colour is: even my sister has worn it and that something because she usually only wears clear or pink nail polish. On the picture I’m wearing a base coat and 2 coats of OPI’s Diva of Geneva.

Staying power:

Like expected from OPI it stays on for more than a week before it stars to chip. Of course you get a white line at the tip of your nails because they grow.
Packaging:
Like usual the same OPI packaging, glass bottle, black cap. I do have to say I find OPI bottles huge! I wonder if I will ever finish a bottle.
Price/Quality:
OPI is quite expensive. This bottle costs €13,95, but you get 15ml of product, which is a lot! Like I’ve said above I’m afraid I’ll never finish a bottle.OPI nail polishes are good quality. I like have pretty nails but I don’t have the time to redo my nails every 2 days, that’s what I like about OPI, I don’t have to worry about my nails for a whole week.
Overall:
+ Amazing quality, will stay on for more than a week!
+ Beautiful, original colour
+ Wide range of colours in permanent line
+ Huge bottle
- Quite expensive
- Limited Edition colour
- Huge bottle

(Back of the packaging)

So... back to the review.
What I do love about this product is that it moisturizes my skin with a lightweight consistency ( serum ).
It absorbs quick and it is fragrance free. Also it has a very hygienic packiging.
I have been using this product for the past 6 months and it never break me out.
I only use this at night (duh.. night repair?) under my Dior hydra life moisturizer.

My skin has visibly improved ; my acne scars are fading, my skin looks brighter and even toned, and dry/flaky spots have dissapeared.
For me this is a love-for-life item... I even use it during summer when I get a sunburn.
I know I'm quite young to use an anti-age serum, but it really is more than that.

To use it you only need to apply a few drops on your face and you will be left with lovely soft skin ^^.
It is a little expensive, I bought it for €62 at De Bijenkorf , but I will definitely buy again.
(the bottle contains 50ML)

MAC Angel lipstick review

Hello:)
Today's review is going be about the famous Mac lipstick in the colour 'angel' (frost finish) that we all know Kim Kardashian wears a lot.
Mac calls this a soft pink, which I think it is. It's a very light creamy pink without shimmer or whatsoever. Even though it's a frost finish, I don't really notice that .
(yay! ..I don't like metallic finishes at all).

It has a good staying power (at least 2/3 hours) but I do need a several layers to get good colour. Also it can be a bit drying, so I always put on some Rosebud salve lipbalm on my lips before I apply the lipstick.

(without flash indoors)

'Angel' looks very pretty with a smokey eye, but you can also wear it with your everyday look.
It can be worn on its own, but it is also very nice with a lipgloss over it to make it more shiny.

The lipstick costs €17,50 and contains 3G.
XXX Liza.

MAC Cham Pale, Review Lip Gelee: Sin-tillation

Cham Pale is MAC’s post-Christmas collection. The MAC collections after Christmas are usually quite neutral. The Cham Pale Collection contains a lot of sparkly shimmery but nude products. Since I love glitter I decided to pick up one of the Lip Gelees. I choose for the colour Sin-tillation.

Packaging:
Simple transparent squeeze tube so you can see the colour. It contains 15ml and you only have to use a little bit so this tube will last a long time. A thing I really like about squeeze tubes is that if you apply them with a brush it is hygienic to share these while it isn’t with lipgloss with a brush or doe-foot applicator like MAC Dazzleglass or Lipglass. This product is limited edition but it doesn’t have special packaging.

Application:
Lip Gelee comes in a squeeze tube, you can use the tube to place the product on your lips. I prefer using a brush for more precise application.

Colour:
MAC describes it as: Sparkly pale icy pink.
I describe it as: Pale pink with a lot of sparkles.
This colour looks great on its own but also looks nice over a lipliner or lipstick to give the look some shimmer.

Formula:
Lip Gelee in Sin-tillation has frost finish, just like all the other Cham Pale Lip Gelees. It has the typical MAC vanilla scent. It is not very sticky at all and it actually feels moisturizing on my lips. I could feel the glitter on
my lips, but it didn’t feel irritating. It looks better in real life than on the photo, but because of all the glitters it was hard to take a good picture. It even feels like a picture doesn’t do the colour justice

Price/Quality:
Lip Gelees costs €17,00 for 15ml. A little goes a long way, so I think this product was worth the money

Overall opinion:
Cham Pale Lip Gelees are available in 4 colours. If you like glittery lipgloss you might want to check these out. These are limited edition, so if you want one you might want to hurry up.

xoxo Kelly

Review: Urban Decay Naked Palette

Yeah, I got my hands on it! It wasn’t easy to find but I have it: the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I have it for over a month now and I’ve tried all the colours so I thought I share my opinion with you.

Eyeshadows:
Virgin: A very, very light shimmery nude colour. I love using this as a brow bone highlight or to light up the inner tear duct.
Sin: A frosty pale pink. (Permanent)
Naked: A matte medium brown. Perfect for blending out darker colours or nice for in the crease. (Permanent)
Sidecar: A very shimmery light brown.
Buck: A matte darker brown. This colour is a bit darker than naked, I like using this colour in the crease.
Half Baked: A shimmery gold. Perfect for all over the lid. (Permanent)
Smog: A shimmery dark brown/bronze colour. (Permanent)
Darkhorse: A dark chocolate brown.
Toasted: A shimmery brown/pink. A very original colour, I like using this all over the lid. (Permanent)
Hustle: A shimmery dark plummy brown.
Creep: A dark blue/black with silver shimmer. I like to use this to line my upper lid with when I have a more nude look.
Gunmetal: A blue/grey with silver shimmer. (Permanent)

The eyeshadows all feel very soft and are very pigmented. The swatches are all done without a base. This palette is amazing! For my eyes I can just grab this one palette and I have everything I need. Some of the shades are permanently available so if you love any of those shades you could also buy it separately.

24/7 Glide-on Pencils:
Zero: Black.
Whiskey: Dark brown.

The 24/7 Glide on Pencils are very soft and creamy.

You can use the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencils on your waterline.

This set also comes with a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion. Probably the most famous primer. I´ve tried it and it makes my eyeshadows last all day and it doesn´t crease on me.

Overall:
+ A lot of eyeshadows you can combine perfectly. You can create a lot of looks just using this one palette.
+ Comes with a primer.
+ Comes with 2 eyeliners.
+ Comes with a mirror.
- Packaging is brown velvet. It looks sophisticated but you should be careful with it. Powder products stick to it and it better not to get it near any wet surfaces.

So in my opinion this palette is definitely worth the money. I bought it in Oxford, England at Boots. I paid £27.50 for it.

xoxo Kelly

Dior Hydra Life Creme Sorbet Review

Hi girls,

I really want to share with you my favourite day and night moisturizing creme from Dior.
It is designed for normal and combination skin. (i have combination skin : oily t-zone /dry chin and cheecks).
It absorbs quick and leaves no greasy feeling. It is very hydratating but not oily or rich at all, it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.
Also i use it as a base before i apply my foundation. (as it absorbs really quick you don’t  have to worry about a ‘glowy’ or ‘greasy’ finish once you’ve applied your foundation.
Another pro is that the crème is not heavy scented at all, it just has this nice soft fresh smell that i love.
Oh and it DID NOT! break me out!!

A 50ML jar costs €54,50 (i know, it’s a little pricy, but a little goes a long way and i think it is worth every penny!)

MAC Matte Crème Matifiante Review

I bought the M.A.C matte creme a few weeks ago now, and I've been using it everyday since then!
It's designed to control oily skin and shine, and to give the skin a mattified look.
After I clean and moisturize my face I apply a little bit of the cream on my t-zone before I put on my Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation (review on this foundation is coming up!).
I know there are different ways to use this product, but for me this works best.
I love to see how it works immediately. It absorbs all the oil and takes the shine away.

The tube contains 25ML, I bought it at the MAC counter in Amsterdam for €19,75

NYX Round Lipstick review in Thalia and Honey

Today i'm going to do a review about the well-known lipsticks of NYX in the shades Thalia 529 and Honey 590.

I heard a lot about the lipsticks and read many reviews, so finally I decided to give them a try myself.. As they don't sell NYX cosmetics in the Netherlands I had to buy them on the internet via the dutch webshop http://www.boozyshop.com/ (which i'm very satisfied about, quick delivery and easy payment).

So back to the review:
I simply LOVE these lipsticks and colours! I was still looking for the perfect nude lipstick and I think Honey is perfect! It's doesn't make your lips look pale as concealer or foundation does. It has this slightly peachy / yellowish undertone that makes the colour look perfect on your lips.
Thalia is a light purple/pink colour that looks great when you're tanned and keep the rest of your face simple. So no heavy eye-makeup or whatsoever.

They both are very pigmented, I mainly noticed that when I use nude colours, I always have to apply a little bit foundation on my lips to make the colour look good.
Now i didn't even need to apply foundation!

This is how the colours look on my lips:

Honey                                                                         Thalia

(As you can see my lips are very dry during winter time, sorry for that!)

So shortly i'm very happy with the NYX lipsticks and i'm definitely going to try more colours and products from this brand.
For all the Dutch people: If you want to order anything from NYX cosmetics, i recommend ordering from http://www.boozyshop.com/

xox Liza.

It's Pure Slakkengel review
